Privacy Policy — Komorebi

What is collected

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, no username, no profile. What you write stays on your phone and is never sent anywhere.


What leaves your phone

Nothing. The app makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server behind Komorebi, so there is nowhere for your writing to go.



Where your entries are stored

On your device, in the app's own local storage. That is the only copy.

Because your entries never leave your device, I cannot read them. I also cannot get them back for you. If your phone is lost or stolen, if you delete the app, or if you reset the device, everything you wrote goes with it. There is no backup and no sync in this version. Your entries exist in exactly one place. Please keep that in mind before writing something you would not want to lose.


Analytics, tracking, and advertising

There are none of these. Specifically:

- No analytics service.

- No crash reporting service.

- No advertising identifier and no ads.

- No third-party code, libraries, or SDKs of any kind in the app.

- No tracking across other apps or websites.



The support and crisis links

The Support screen lists phone numbers and websites for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line, Safe Call Now, and the Emotional PPE Project. Those are independent organizations. They are not operated by me and they have their own privacy practices. Tapping one hands off to your Phone app, Messages, or your browser, and you can see where you are going before anything happens. Nothing you write in Komorebi is sent to them. Nothing on that screen reacts to what you write or how you tag it. The list is the same every time you open it.



Children

Komorebi is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no information from anyone, there is no children's data held, and nothing to request deletion of.



Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. If a change is significant, it will also be described in the app's release notes on the App Store, so you can see it without having to check back here.
