 Komorebi Support

Komorebi is a journaling app for healthcare workers, where what you write stays on your phone and each entry adds a leaf to a tree.

Email: remykd@gmail.com

I read every message that comes in.

Where are my entries stored?

On your phone, in the app's own storage. They are not uploaded anywhere. There is no server behind the app.

Is there backup or sync?

No, not in this version. Your entries exist in exactly one place, which is the device you wrote them on.

If you lose your phone, switch to a new one, or delete the app, the entries go with it. There is no copy stored elsewhere that I can restore for you, because nothing is ever sent off the device. This is worth knowing before you write something you would want to keep.

How do I delete my entries?

One entry: open it from the Journal tab and tap Delete Entry, or swipe on the row in the list.

All of them: delete Komorebi from your phone. That removes every entry along with it, permanently and immediately.

There is no separate account to close and no request to send me, since I never had a copy in the first place.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for, no email address to hand over, and no password to keep track of. Install it and start writing.

Are the crisis numbers run by Komorebi?

No. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line, Safe Call Now, and the Emotional PPE Project are independent organizations with no connection to this app. Komorebi lists them so they are easy to find.

Tapping one opens your Phone app, Messages, or your browser. Nothing you have written is shared with them, and nothing on that screen changes based on what you write.

Does it work without a connection?

Yes, always. The app never needs a network connection, so airplane mode and dead zones make no difference to it.

The tree does not seem to be growing

Leaves are added as entries accumulate, and the tree moves through stages rather than changing with every single entry. Early on, the difference between one entry and the next is small by design. Keep writing and it fills in.

Something is broken, or I have an idea

Email remykd@gmail.com. It helps to include your iPhone model and iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. Please do not paste anything private from an entry into the email.
